What it is based on

Built on the Learner's Discerning Practice Model, by Dr Phuong Nguyen.

The method was written by Dr Phuong Nguyen, who taught nine Executive MBA classes at CFVG over eight years, and who led country businesses for thirty years. It is described in a preprint, a research paper shared publicly before formal review. It builds on more than forty years of research on how adults learn from experience, starting with Kolb (1984).

Honest limits. The preprint explains the method, but it does not yet include data from students or classes, and the method has not yet been tested with large groups. Noemate does not promise that your judgment will get better. It gives you a dated record, written by you, that you can read and check. None of the five habits is new on its own. What is new is how they work together: the notes are private, written on a regular schedule, each lesson is written together with the situation where it would be wrong, and the habit continues through the whole degree. More on the author's page about the method.
